Plant Health Care Specialist

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Scouting for pests which include weeds, insects, diseases, and rodents.
• Effectively diagnose, monitor, and treat insect and disease conditions of trees and shrubs.
• Applying controls including pesticides as needed to maintain plant health.
• Maintain accurate records and safety protocols for all applications.
• Maintain and or earn applicator licenses as industry requires.
• Provide training on safety and plant health to help foster improvements within the organizations.
• Monitor inventory and equipment maintenance.
• Work with customers and establish strong customer relationships and education based on plant care/health.
• Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Degree in Horticulture or related studies
• 1-3 years of prior experience working with plants in a greenhouse/nursery environment
• Strong plant identification knowledge
• Understanding of species-specific insect and disease practices
• Ability to perform manual labor and work in all weather conditions and seasons.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator License
