Purchasing Agent

Vizmeg Landscape is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. The Purchasing Agent will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our procurement processes. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and supplies needed for our landscaping projects while ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
Here’s what your day-to-day responsibilities will be:
- Vendor Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong relationships with vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to optimize costs and improve efficiencies.
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry best practices to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Cost Negotiation:
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements.
- Analyze and compare prices, terms and quality to make the best purchasing decisions.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and reorder points.
- Collaborate with project managers to forecast material requirements for upcoming projects.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Keep accurate records of purchases, contracts and agreements.
Here is what our “Ideal candidate” looks like:
- 3 years of proven experience as a Purchasing Agent, or a similar role
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products
